Pupils in Miss Hoey's Class have been learning about different types of sculpture. First, they worked in teams to create human sculptures. Each one was a representation of something else. We had a star, a tractor and even an angel. After that, each team took inspiration for an abstract sculpture based on the work of Andy Goldsworthy. The children noticed that his work includes lots of circles, curves and arch shapes and that he uses natural materials.
Our photos show the teams working on their sculptures and getting ready as Forest Warriors to take on the 'King's Men'.
The Forest School Queen for this session was Abbie Cooper and the King was Noah Hillier. Both were chosen for their contributions to their team's sculpture and for being passionate about Forest School learning.
