Our Year 2 teacher is Miss Evans and is supported by a number of wonderful teaching assistants.
Reading books and book bags will go home every day and be expected to be brought back into school every day. We highly encourage children to read daily to their grown ups at home and it must be signed by an adult in their reading record. On the front of each reading record, each child will have a day stated. This day is the day that their home reader will be changed. It will be changed each week. We will proceed to check whether the child has read and will check again every Friday.
The home reader is paired to the children's ability so it is recommended for the child to read independently. This will increase their confidence, fluency and ability. However, if they struggle to read the text fluently, please let Miss Evans know.
Children will also get a free reader to take home which they choose freely and independently from the reading corner to be enjoyed at home. This can be returned any time for the child to change.
Children will also bring homework home every Friday. It must be returned by the following Thursday. It may vary in subject however it will always focus on an element we have learnt in class that week.
PE is currently on a Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning and it is expected that children should have a full PE Kit in school. Thank you!
