GIRLS' CRICKET
Group Stage
Our Girls' Cricket Team were outstanding in the group stage of the Rossendale Girls' Cricket Tournament. They were commended on their School Games Values and the support and encouragement that they gave to all players, not just their own team.
We played 2 matches, winning both to progress to the Finals Day.
Finals Day
We were up against tough opposition and experienced club cricket players but that didn't stop us from playing some great cricket. We narrowly lost to St. James the Less but won our 2nd game by 32 runs, to finish in 3rd place overall.
Once again, our use of School Games Values was spotted by the parent of a pupil from another school who commented on our girls' "lovely attitude" and how well they were cheering all players on.
Congratulations to Maisie Race (2nd match Captain) Charlie Tillotson (Captain), Anya Raby, Abbie Sweeney, Megan Jamieson, Bethany Trickett, Isabelle Emmett and Lucy Denny.
Special thank you to Lottie Jamieson and Ava Casey for stepping into the team at the last minute and contributing to our success. You are all a credit to Thorn Primary and we are so proud of you.
