ROSSENDALE MINI-OLYMPICS 2023

Our Y6 pupils were treated to a day at the 'Olympics'. They travelled to Marl Pits Sports Complex to take part in Rossendale's Mini-Olympics 2023. There was an Opening Ceremony, where our some of our Y6 pupils performed their own dance routine, and our School Games Pledge winners read out their pledge to the teams and audience. We had children taking part in Golf, Football, Dance, Athletics, Tag Rugby, Climbing and Nancy McEwan was a Sports Journalist for the day, after taking part in a Journalism Workshop earlier in the week. We even had the Olympic Torch, carried by Barbara Horne, torch bearer and school governor. The gloomy weather did not dampen our spirits and we played with passion and determination , winning the School Games Values Award in Athletics and Football.

Congratulations Y6! You did a great job!

Thank you to all of the staff and governors who supported us and helped to make our day amazing.
